Electromyography (EMG)
Electromyography (EMG) is an electrodiagnostic study of your muscles and nerves. Performing electrodiagnostic studies requires a thorough knowledge of muscles, nerves, and general anatomy. The interpretation of an EMG is critical and is important in establishing a diagnosis including the onset, duration, and severity of nerve and or muscle injuries. At Ortho Spine Life we perform and incorporate EMG studies into the clinical management of our patients.
Nerve Conduction Study (NCV)
A nerve conduction study (NCV) is often performed in conjunction with an electromyography study (EMG). This portion of the study is considered to provide a detailed analysis of nerve function and health. The etiology of nerve mediated pain provides a practitioner with the necessary blueprint to determine a treatment plan for resolution of symptoms.
Concussive Screening
Concussions are frequently associated with accidents particularly those involving falls and motor vehicles. Ortho Spine Life is proud to offer first contact post concussion screening, triage, and management.
Laboratory
Ortho Spine Life provides complete laboratory testing onsite. When appropriate, labs and screening tests are performed prior to procedures including minimally invasive to more advanced surgical procedures. Both urine and blood samples may be performed following accidents or trauma. Pregnancy status is established prior to radiographic exposure. Ortho Spine Life helps transition critically injured patients in an outpatient setting.
X-Ray Imaging
Ortho Spine Life provides state of the art digital radiographs which provide for real time imaging, more precise studies, and less radiation exposure. X-rays are one form of studies that stage early bone and soft tissue injuries. Radiographic studies can be used over time to monitor and establish the progress of bony fractures and healing.
